cwmiller
06 OBxt fog light bulbs are a 9006 55w. Can I jump to an 80watt with out melting anything, or any other sort of damage.
Xenonk
most likely you will since the amp draw is high and the wires are lame and can't handle the current. What you could do is get an HID kit Keefe
mccorry
+1.... I wouldn't jump up in wattage that much. The fixture, relays, and wiring probably won't handle it very well.
John M
I don't see why it would be all that much -- you're talking 2.5 more amps per bulb. Going from 4.5 amps to 7 amps per bulb shouldn't make it go up in flames. Increased heat can shorten bulb life but that's probably the only drawback. At least the OB has some real lights -- nice big reflectors and almost twice the wattage of the LGT's lights.
