BRP800 Posted November 15, 2006 Share Posted November 15, 2006 Manual says 1000# without trailer brakes, 2500# w/trailer brakes. Hitch is class 2, 3500# Several times I've towed a 2000# trailer (with ATV inside) with no problems. Got the shortest 1.25" receiver insert I could find to reduce leverage. Ball is only about 2" away from the bumper. Only place I notice any weight is when coming to a stop. The GT's are supposed to have larger ventilated rotors that the non-GTs. Has anybody heard of any damage from towing this kind of weight? Last couple trips I used my Cherokee, but it sure don't drive as comfortably. froggert Posted November 15, 2006 Share Posted November 15, 2006 were you towing your bike at the time? yup, was hauling the 900ss up to nhis for a trackday. luckily the bike was secured well enough that it didn't even move. trailer wheel rolled down the left hand shoulder for about a quarter of a mile. i saw this on the highway (a different time) and snapped a pic with my phone. don't try it with the legacy.
