When is the Impreza gonna get the variable valve lift that the N/A Legacy got that knocked the hp and torque up 175 and 169?

Oh. Then they havent updated their website to reflect that.

AFAIK all the 2.5 NA engines now have i-active valve lift, it's just not mentioned on the website.

Found this article:

You never noticed the power bump last year? 173hp/169tq Impreza and Forester.

I did....hence me starting this topic. Did you notice the bump this year. 175hp/169tq Legacy, while Impreza and Forrester are still at the 173 hp. So in one way or another, Subaru is not up to date.

The differences are subtle but they are different motors. The N/A built legacy products have different intake manifolds and a few other bits and pieces than the Japanese built Impreza/Forester. Methinks its to marginally offset the weight difference between the two products.
