zuczek
Who can program actual mileage to a LGT odometer? I'm swapping clusters and want the actual mileage programmed rather than having a sticker in the door. The sticker always throws the new potential buyers off as a possibility of mileage fraud. Dealer can't program the odometer. On the other hand... What is the easiest way to read/program a 93c56 EEprom that apparently the LGT odometer use? PhilT
The guy who used to program my Bell Expressvu card to get all the channels for free could adjust odometers to whatever you wanted them to read. It's illegal to adjust them, so you need to ask any shady friends you may have Double Award Winning Legacy GT Wagon
zmarko
Why are you switching odometers?
laz
+1, what is wrong with your gauge cluster? A lot of time if there is nothing wrong with the speedometer/odometer itself you could swap out that part into the new cluster. I know the dealership will probably not do that. What is the easiest way to read/program a 93c56 EEprom that apparently the LGT odometer use?The easiest way is to let the guys at http://www.dashpro.com/ in Edmonton do it for you. Second easiest way is to buy their odometer programming tool.
zuczek
Changing a US cluster to a Canadian Cluster. Nothing wrong with it. I'm not changing to a different mileage, just converting miles to kilometers and programming actual mileage.

GL X I checked the cluster and there is only 1 circuit board in there running all the gauges. Even the faceplate is 1 piece... I thought it was 3 separate ones. bugblatterbeast
why not lift the serial eeprom from the old cluster and graft it onto the new one.
zuczek
why not lift the serial eeprom from the old cluster and graft it onto the new one. That's another way I was thinking of doing it. I found someone that can do it legally (with paperwork) for $85.

mccorry
I don't think you are going to find anyone who can/will do that. Too close to fraudulant activity (even though you're being legit).
