canis
My girlfriend has a 2002 Audi A4, 1.8 turbo, not quattro, 5-speed. She had the transmission replaced one year ago (extended warranty). She had the clutch replaced two weeks ago ($1,200 &$%^& ). When you push in the clutch quickly (or let it out quickly), mostly in first gear and partially in second gear, there is a loud POP! sound and you can feel a thump through the car. If you're gentle and slip the clutch, no pop. So basically it's when there's a significant and sudden change in the torque on the driveline. It's a hydraulic clutch, so it's not the clutch linkage. I just replaced the motor mounts ($300 *^%$#@#$%^), so it's not those. What else could it be? Tranny mount? I don't know if it did it before the transmission was replaced, so I can't say if the shop caused it.
Jedi Pimp
Sounds like an issue with the clutch replacement and the release bearing.
