RaGe
ok i have been searching my butt off now for about two weeks and i have finally come to the conclusion that i suck. i have a headache now and i have resorted to drinking. i am looking for wheels and tires. i have been looking at thread after thread on here seeing what i like reading reviews and what not. despite taking 2 ib prof ( i'm not even going to attempt to spell it ) and 2 excederine migrains i still have a headache from this crap. Hopefully i can get an 17x8. being that i have a 2.5i and not alot of HP to sacrifice with some 18's i would like to retain the 17's. i will be putting on my tein H techs this coming weekend or next. So i want to put the tires out to the fenderwell so they are flush if you know what i mean. I guess i am talking about the offset. so now to the tires. based on the theory that i find rims that i want ( by that time i will be enrolled in AA ) i have been looking at 235/40/17. this will be a summer tire only. I live in ohio so it will be rain and shine. i like the thicker sidewall compared with the STI. dont know the actuall name of the lip. but hopefully you get my drift. potenzas RE-01's or the hankooks RS-2 kumho ecsta MX falken azenis 615. these are just a few that i was looking at. like i said i would like a thick sidewall like the STI's have, and would like a meaty tire, for summer purposes. been searching my butt off and i just need some help now. any help that you can give is greatly appreciated. OTM. Sorry I didn't mean to start a war which mainly forum people is all about .
Saul_Good
The RE070s have the stiffest sidewall. A close 2nd would be the Azenis for stiffer sidewall. But remember, the Azenis 615 has a stickier compound over the RE070. That being said, I just bought some Azenis 615s (224/45/17) and they're awesome. Too bad i gotta switch wheels soon for the coming winter.

RaGe
well when i say thicker i am talking about that lip. like the STI RE70. was talking with saul good and he suggested those as well Falken Azenis 615s 225/45/17 but how are they in the rain? i like the looks of them. So will that 17x8 w.+48offset get those wheels as far out as possible for the look that i am going for? OTM. Sorry I didn't mean to start a war which mainly forum people is all about . Xenonk
lip? I dont understand the "lip" you are referring to on a tire.. there's a rim protector on certain tires.. but not a lip. As for the 17x8 Type C, you need to go here: http://www.rd-tanabe.com/ssr/collection/ssr_typec/index.html size chart for Subarus: http://www.rd-tanabe.com/ssr/collection/ssr_typec/matching/subaru.htm for Type C RS, here you go: http://202.164.225.248/lineup/ssr/typec_rs/index.html size chart for Subarus for the RSs: http://202.164.225.248/lineup/ssr/typec_rs/matching/subaru.html Tire Rack hasnt recieved the new SSRs yet.. Xenonk
rim protector = lip. i speak dummy so you might not understand me. LOL. just get a wide tire and narrower rim.. so that your rim doesnt stick out past the sidewalls, you'll be fine.. that is why I always suggest to many people on the boards about getting 225/45/17 tires on the stock rims. Just pick the rim you want and rim size.. I'll pick out a few tires out for you that you want to deal with.. can't get any simpler than that.
