bnorton
Still... not quite done. Got the cleansweep back from JL with a working volume control knob ($50). Now one of the channels on the amp was distorting to the point of making the music unlistenable. So I have a 300/2 in for now while we send the 300/4 back to JL. C'est la vie. Mais je n'aime pas ça. every(all(at(forever)once)together)thing
ckrieg
can someone please explain to me the advantage of a clean sweep. Why not just use a crossover?

hifiandmtb
Nice install...real nice, but dude - the cables easily clip out of the opening handle so there's no need to unscrew the whole thing from the door trim!
planigan
Looks great, that's nearly the same amp setup that I'm going for. One question for ya though -- have you noticed any problems with heat dissipation with the amps being installed underneath the floor cover? I seem to recall some other threads where people cut vents in the cover, but I didn't notice anything like that in your photos.
bnorton
As you have noticed, Planigan, I have no heat dissipation. I've had the 300/2 installed for about a week (waiting for the replacement 300/4 from JL) and nothing has cut out yet. However, my longest trip has been just over an hour. Whenever I have peeked... it's all green lights. First sign of a problem... I will definitely improve air flow. Until then... every(all(at(forever)once)together)thing
bnorton
She generally "pooh, pooh's" stuff like this, but today she returned from the hairdresser and said she turned up the music really loud to listen to Dave Matthew's 'Some Devil' and it sounded awesome.
