mikelbonin
Running one second, not running the next. No warning, no symptoms, no nothing. It has no spark. I have checked the ignition coil, camshaft position sensor, and crank position sensor. They all look good. Is there any way to check the igniter (or is it ignition module?). It costs $178 and I don't won't to order it as a guess unless there is no way to check it. Also, the Chilton's manual appears to say there is no way to check codes or do any self-diagnosis on the 1996 model 2.5 liter LSi. Am I reading this right or is there a way? kkushner4474
I believe that any car 96 and older has odb2 and you can take that to auto zone and they will read your codes for free Sorry i jsut realized that your car does not run sorry

stanjk3
Our '95 Legacy has OBD II. Some '94 and '95 cars have it, '96 is the year it became mandatory. IIRC I paid ~$130 for my code reader. There's a cheaper one that just give s you the code w/o saying what it is. And there are more expensive ones that can give you real time readings. Friends don't let friends drink cheap beer. mikelbonin
My new OBD II code reader was shipped this morning. Maybe that will head me down the right path. I'll let you know. Thanks for the input.
