evolutionmovement Posted October 20, 2004 Share Posted October 20, 2004 I beat mine until an exhaust valve on #3 melted at 247+K miles. Tore it down and found almost no wear signs of use on anything and nothing even close to being out of spec except for that valve - even that valve seat was good. I think carbon build up combined with a bad knock sensor conspired against the valve. Still got me home 15 miles at 80 mph + in-town traffic.
