jackacc
I have a Black 2.5i wagon and am having a hard time deciding between these 2 wheels: 17x8 Boost in Silver or Steel Grey 18x8 Formula Mesh in Silver I have seen the Formula Mesh on a legacy wagon before but I don't see many boosts on wagons. I am torn in between both. I won't be auto xing so weight is not an issue, it is strictly for looks. Here is my car: What do you think would look best? http://www.jacktevnan.com/images/Legacy/soob4.jpg JDM GT Bilsteins (F-Tanabe R-Pinks) JDM RSB - Modded Kartboy SS - Subaru Momo Knob Subastyle Grille

bradlgt21
Yeah I would say formula mesh. No offense to anyone who had boost wheels here. But I think they give a ricey appearance. I like mesh and 10 spokes on our car keeps the classy but sporty look.

Xenonk
17x8 is better, makes your brakes look proportional and the tires are cheaper... and hopefully the rims are lighter.. Keefe
dvdt
I'd say go for the 17" boost as 18"s on a non lowered car look funny. Silver is a shade or two more silver than my silver LGT so it's a little brighter than you'd think. I have the 18" Formula Mesh btw. PITA to clean but I do like how they look. Actually, these are my fav on a black Outback wagon. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v291/urabus/subaru/gf_4.jpg
nKoan
The boosts are awesome IMO. For what its worth, here is my buddies car with boosts on a slammed second gen black OB. http://www.hooptywagon.com/img/DSCF3001.JPG
jackacc
This is actually the car that I first saw the Boost's on and I loved the look. I have been a huge fan of sybir's car for a long time.. through all his wheel choices! But I like these on his car the best. The boosts are awesome IMO. jackacc
As much as I love the Formula Mesh, I am leaning a little towards the Boost mainly because of the fact that they are 17's. Much cheaper to keep tires on them (could actually swap my stockers on there for now). And I travel in NJ and NYC alot... the home of the rim-killer potholes. 18's may get eaten alive. I am not planning on lowering the car anytime soon. But when I do, it will probably be very minor so maybe 17's would be the way to go. I really like the look of the Formula Mesh on a lowered wagon but I won't be slammed so 17's may be a better fit for now. I love the rota formels as well but I feel they look small with the polished lip. Haven't really seen any pics of the formels on wagons either. GTCanada
Personally, I find mesh wheels a PITA to clean. But, I have two little kids so I rarely have the opportunity to clean my car at a leisurely pace. I need something I can do quickly. BTW, my vote would be for 17 x 7.5 Rota Torques, or Boost if you prefer, with 225/45/17. IMO, the 8" wheels in 48 offset visually stick out too far out of the front wheels wells. 225/45/17 is a common size with lots of options. jackacc
I just did a crappy photoshop with these rims on my car and some tarmac 3's as well. I am leaning towards the boost but still can't commit... Obviously they would look better in person Boost http://www.jacktevnan.com/images/Legacy/boost.jpg Formula Mesh http://www.jacktevnan.com/images/Legacy/fmesh.jpg Tarmac3 http://www.jacktevnan.com/images/Legacy/tarmac3.jpg JDM GT Bilsteins (F-Tanabe R-Pinks) JDM RSB - Modded Kartboy SS - Subaru Momo Knob Subastyle Grille
nKoan
Tarmac 3 or G-Force are also a good Rota option IMO. I'm typically a fan of mesh style wheels, but I really don't like the Formula Mesh. Link to my car with G-Forces (and lowered)

Xenonk
not a fan of boost, looks like a knock off of the SSR Comps.. plus I dont like how the spoke has that funky curve and flare that meets up with the hoop: http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/8398/boostch0.jpg Keefe

GTCanada
Does the "funky curve" extend out beyond the edge of the wheel rim? jackacc
Well I pulled the trigger and bought a set of silver Formula Mesh with tires in nice shape. The guy was local to me and it was a good deal. For some reason the Formula Mesh was speaking to me. After looking at hundreds of pictures over and over and over...and many many times at Mach V Dan's car pics... I had to do it. This is the look I am going for right now. I really like the Boosts too and who knows, if I get tired of the FM's I'm sure I could sell or trade them and get into a set of Boosts down the road. I am always changing something on my car so we'll see how long these last Thanks for all the input and pics everyone!
