Negative attitudes and Rude posting.....

mccorry

Recommended Posts

These seems to be a rise as of late in these two items. When I first joined this board, it was a weath of knowledge with helpful and supportive members. Lately, I have seen numerous "smart ass" posts which are rude and condescending. Especially to the new people joining the board. What seems to be the problem? We are all here to discuss the Legacy. Maybe we should take a step back and try to remember that.... :(
You should check out srtforums. I used to lurk there a while ago. They have good porn, but not much else. There were quite a few flame wars. Come to think of it, the guy who stirred things up over there a lot was called monkey. Coincidence?
Are you implying something sir?

mccorry, I posted something similar some months ago, and was essentially told, "If you can't take the Intraweb heat, get out of the kitchen." I agree with you, however, and speaking as someone who has been here since the very early days, it is disappointing that my Pollyannaish hopes that the atmosphere of that time would be retained have been so cruelly dashed. But that's life. Observations that this space isn't as bad as some other spaces serve as "crabs in a barrel" comparisons to me. The failure of other spaces shouldn't have any impact or bearing on the quality of this space. Yet alas, these observations are doomed to be thus. With a public forum, there will be all sorts of people posting, from calm and mature to snarky and contentious. The only board I know of that still has its nice vibe is a Telecaster discussion board, and that is because it has one moderator. If someone doesn't play nice, they get a warning. If they persist, they are kicked off the board. Period. Suffice it to say, that is a very nice space, that even has civil and courteous political and current events discussions. And I can assure you, if people think that car people are crazy, guitar heads are even crazier and more opionated. Kevin

Boy we've got too eager beavers here. I agree though, fully with Kevin and Mccorry and everyone else who has see the slide take place. It happens, but it's unfortunate. That's what you get when the pool multiplies, the more you get, the more variety you're likely to have.

I have only been a part of the action since early July, and aside from our Australian friends (take note of their courtesy and cordiality), I haven't felt too warmly welcome here. perhaps I'm wrong here, Rob
This forum is way better than the TL forum. What a bunch of whiny bitches, gives a bad name to all Acura owners (of which I am one). The flame level seems to be lower here than other boards I have visited.
A view from the outside in always helps. This place really ain't that bad, some jokes are just taken too seriously some times...but no I haven't seen many "real" flames. :D
I enjoy your comments and especially setting up that SIA tour! If it isn't shown, I still do really appreciate your presence on the forum.
Ah shucks, now you are making by blush  Thanks, and I really look forward to meeting those that go to SIA with us. I think I can hook up with 1 or two of my contacts there for some nice information. I am going to check about finding the best hotel (and one that might offer SIA suppliers/visitors discounts). I will be staying up there on Thursday night, and possibly Friday night (according on how late the tour/visit lasts on Friday) thanks, Rob

My point was to raise awareness of the issue as I percieved it. I felt that it has been getting worse as of late. Sounds like many of you agree..... The point is... if we are aware of the issue, we can go forward from here and try to make it better.... I really do enjoy it immensly and have to get a daily fix. You all are a great and entertaining group of people! :D

I will admit...I can get a little punchy and smart a$$ at times, but never rude or degrading to anyone...(Not that I can recollect..??) I contribute, even if some of you don't want to know or appreciate what the worlds #1 ranked party bowl is.

The thin gis, we all have personalities. I'm certainly not above getting a little wise (or a lot) from time to time. I kind of see it as a familty- people get in moods, make jokes, crack on each other. But at the end of the day it's still "Good night John-Boy".
