This is really starting to annoy me

Recommended Posts

Garage here too, sort of a pain in the butt washing though because the water sits between the rails and doesn't run off well, at least in our driveway, which does actually have an alright incline to it. Maybe the waxing will help. :)

Thats no reason they couldn't put grooves on the car to run the water to the rear like on any other car I've driven. .
What other cars have you driven? With the exception of my old 91 Pontiac Sunbird, I can't remember a car with built in rain guards (91 Spirit, 94 Escort, 01 Civic, 05 Corolla). Seems like with new automotive design these days, rain guards don't fit into the aerodynamic/aesthetic scheme of things. If in a real pinch, buy a California Water Blade (or the Baja Sol version at Target, $20). Silicone rubber blade made to pull the water off the roof. I use one after I wash my cars and it dries them spotless. I might be hesitant to use it if the car is a little dirty though, since something in the rainwater might scratch your roof. A little (read: very tiny) ridge is built into the roof of my sedan, if I remember correctly. But the water flows over it fairly easily.

i really dont understand y is this a problem 1. sooo...y dont you consider this situation to use the AC cause you "have to." 2. try wiping off the water b4 your drive 3. dont turn right 4. OR just open the passenger side windows. there are so many solutions to your "problem" that a liitle effort wont fix. just my .02 haha

I'm not saying ever car does just what all the ones I've driven on a regular basis with dew or rain on the roof. And then to above post, I do open my passenger window too and it just pours in there both sides are pointless to open. But I'm past it and just somethign I have to deal with but the engine makes up for all the water in the car once I'm moving. Just another example of you don't know what you had until you don't have it anymore.

This is the first Subaru in my memory that does not have rain gutters. The previous generation did, as did my WRX and my wife's old 03 Forester. I was quite surprised to see that they left them off entirely. It can definitely be a problem -- never mind when the windows are down, but even when you open and close the doors. Craig

You can find them in the Vendor Classified topics. They are from the European market. They are rather expensive in my opinion. More information can easily be found using the search function, if you have any more trouble finding them. I found them by searching for "rain guards". Rob S.
And beware any magnetic stuff... leave it on too long in damp conditions and it could discolor the paint underneath...
do you think that's how these rainguards are attached to the car? i was thinking that they should be more permanent than that. i guess i was hoping that there would be some sort of space-age adhesive that would stick for the life of the car. does anyone know how these strips are attached? i can't find any information at the vendor's site. he hasn't gotten the part in yet. det

The rainguards are attached with 3M adhesive tape and some clips you install. I think they'd stay on without the tape, but it does mkae them look more intergrated.

I answered a question he had about what they looked like. I just didn't understand why you posted the same pics again answering the same question again. Seemed kinda pointless....
