I was watching either Top Gear or 5th Gear review a Saab, saying how owners are always grinning, like they are in the know about something that people think is a boring car. He said he found it... 30-70mph pull in 2nd gear is amazing and reckons it is as quick as anything else on the road between those speeds... I think it was Jeremy from Top Gear. I really like the looks of it also. Just that much power throu the front wheels... :( When they were testing it around a track it would consistany just lite up the fronts...
that's why i said if it is a Saabaru :D same platform, same interior, same engine, and everything the same as the USDM B4 except the exterior -- with the skin of 9-3. the more i look at this car, the more i like it!
Ditto. If it's Saab only skin-deep with complete Subaru B4 running gear (literally everyting else Subaru, e.g., wiring, electronics, chassis, engine, drivetrain, controls, etc., then I'd consider it). But, I'd also hope that Subaru would have a USDM B4 available for $xK less and I'd just buy that instead. SBT

Oh boy, Saab would LOSE major customers if they ever did this :) the 9-3 is loved by Saab purists :) that torquey engine at low RPM... The Legacy GT's engine is nice, but just has a different character to what the people buying Saab want and expect from Saab. ie: The 9-2 Impreza Saabaru hasnt been sitting well with the Saab's purists from what I understand, only Impressing people new to the brand. Me personally, Yep... Add the Boxer and AWD! :D

I feel eccentric enough in Subaru, I don't want to add a whole nuther level eccentricity to my persona by also being known as a Saab driver. Besides, I don't think I could ever go back to twitchy steering under torque load and definitely not back to FWD. SBT

Yeah, major kudos to Saab on the styling. They're kicking Bangle and BMW's @ss all over the place. Proof that you don't need "flame surfacing" to create a great looking car. FWD... boo! If it was Spec B under the skin, I'd still take the Spec B... just like I'd take WRX over 9-2x.

I test drove 9-3 for few hours and spending any time in traffic was just horrible. You can't stay off boost in traffic, and there is no place to go on boost. And that feeling of changing lanes on full boost - I think it's called torquesteer .

(check out my car here http://users.dcr.net/~rcatron/viggen.html ) The car mags dogged it, but I thought it was a blast -- just mash the accelerator, hold onto wheel (with both hands) firmaly, and blast off. Oh, shifting...forgot about that :D

actually i think this 9-3 looks much better than the Audis, BMWs, and MBs. and, of cause, it looks better than TSX, TL, RL, M45 or whatever it is; it just look tooooo good! even the rear bumper looks good! :D however, the interior design is....DUH.... it looks nearly the same as my dad's 1996 saab :D maybe the 9-3 sports hatch will be another Saabaru of B4 GT + 9-3 :D
