Paisan
Ok folks with all the Evo-Subaru talk from last weekends Drag Racing Event, I figured I'd keep the ball rolling and put together a Road Course Event! I spoke with NASA-NE and they have agreed to give us our own rungroup at Limerock Park in Nov! (or any NASA Event). Here is the deal... We need 30 Subies and EVOs register (total) to get our own rungroup. You'd still have instructors same as you would have in a regular rungroup, but ontrack would be only Subies and EVOs. Limerock Park is in the NW Corner of CT. Awsome track! You can learn a lot at an HPDE Event. It wouldn't be a "competition" like the Drage Event, but it would definitely have some friendly banter between the Subies and Evos and some good comradere. Afterward we can all meet up at the traditional pizza joint and trade stories of the day. If you want pics of track days you can check out the Team IAC webpage and forum. axis008
That looks really fun! Too bad I 1) don't have a Subaru and 2) am on the west coast. Hope everyone who attends has fun though! -ben
Paisan
Why are you a mod on a subaru board then? Haaaaa That's funny. -mike
axis008
I will get one within half a year hopefully, no worries. :) -ben

axis008
So this might help some people that are interested, how many people do you have signed up already, since you said you needed 30 total people. -ben
Paisan
Actually just came up with the idea of a rungtroup for EVo and subies today. THe track day wil fill up, but hopefully we can get 30 or so cars then have a "private" run group on the track rather than mix with the rest of the makes/models. -mike
SBT
How do you organize something like this? Do you just approach the track itself or do you need a sanctioning organization/company to coordinate it for you? I'd be in for setting something up like this for the west coasters at Willow Springs or Fontana but with no time from work to inquire, it's a pretty daunting task, especially since I'm at least 2-3 hours away from any of these venues. I've read on NASIOC that there are track days coming up but it's come with whatever vehicle you want and is not Subaru specific (including the EVO's would be fun too) SBT - Pro amore Dei et patriam et populum -
inthedeck
What's the cost? Just to be curious, what if it's snowed out (who knows what this winter will bring)? I would be down, as long as you give me an idea as to what I am gonna need, for this sort of event, as I have never really driven on a track like LimeRock, although I have wanted to. Anyway, gimme the breakdown, and I will let you know if I am in or not? Later, i.
AJChenMPH
Free bump. I've done track days with SCDA (www.scda1.com), they're charging about $235 for a one-day session. I have no idea what NASA charges. All you need is a Snell 95 or higher helmet, and make sure your car is in good working order -- particularly make sure you've got a lot of brake pad left and that your brake fluid is relatively fresh (i.e., changed within the last year or so). For pics of track events I've been to, check out my car's homepage by clicking on the "Home" button below. I've done track events at Lime Rock, Watkins Glen, Pocono Raceway and NHIS. A heck of a lot of fun, and you should see the looks on the faces of all the BMW drivers that I pass in my bucket o' bolts. ;) Andy Andy | My Whips
