Police stepping up highway patrolsJune 7, 2006 SEABROOK, N.H. --Police from New Hampshire and Massachusetts are working with a race track to keep racing on the track, not on the roads. Police said the program is named Operation RACE for "real, aggressive, cooperative enforcement." It will involve troopers who patrol Rockingham and Strafford counties, Massachusetts state police and police from 14 area towns.New England Dragway in Epping also is involved -- developing an educational program to discourage illegal road racing. Police say they notice an increase in speeding on Wednesday and Friday nights, when the track allows beginners to run their street-legal cars and motorcycles on the track.
