16psibrick
just gone done with this car its a 2002 acura TL type S... the goals: good sound quality on a budget stealth appearance in the trunk while maintaining usability somehow get the avic-z1 in there lets get started: the first challenge of coures it he avic-z1. there is NO double din kits avaible for these TLs, and there was no budget really to do an all aout custom molded, painted to match dash kit, so i went with the clean route. a custom plate was carely trimmed out, sanded and then covered in black suede...overall, a pretty clean look that doesnt break the bank http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/dantl1.jpg next, we arrive at the kick panels. since i mentioned that this is an all ED car, edi 6500s resides in suede trimmed kicks, nothing fancy. so far, with out any tuning, i am quite impressed by the performance of the 6500s in kicks. imaging is solidly int he middle, midbass is excellent...midrange and high smoothness, while not as good as the DLS ultimate lines i have been using, but consider that htey cost twice to five times as much as the 6500, i gotta say this is one heck of a sepaker and hard for anyone to come close at that price range http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/dantl2.jpg http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/dantl3.jpg http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/dantl4.jpg http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/dantl5.jpg http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/dantl6.jpg
16psibrick
also added were a pair of my own line of replacement headrests with 8" LCDs...here you see them in the car off: http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/dantl7.jpg here is a close up of one of hte monitors in operations: http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/dantl8.jpg both: http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/dantl9.jpg and all three screens together throught he wet rear window lol http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/dantl10.jpg with htis set up, the front passengers can look at the nav, while hte back can watch a movie moving on the trunk, like i said, i mentioned that it was a stealth install..so here is what you see when you open the trunk: http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/dantl11.jpg http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/dantl12.jpg
16psibrick
pop off the big center vented cover, and a big big well greats you. in the sky blue suede lined well resides two nine-2xes, crossovers for hte edis, and a single 11ov2 http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/dantl13.jpg http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/dantl14.jpg http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/dantl15.jpg overall, i am VERY satisfied with the sound qualiyt of this sytem, its clean, loud and great imaging staging. what really impresses me is the 11ov2, such a small sub, yet able to fill such a big car through the rear deck with solid bass, hair moving bass...truly impressive... well thats all for now questions and comments welcome
