MaStaMooN
Here are a few pictures of my install. What it is, is the suction cup mount, turned upside down and pushed into the cubby. It fits tightly and never moves unless I want it to. This mounting solution is great for me because it still allows the rotation/tilt/adjustments of the suction cup mount to work. This is good since my wife likes to surf the channels and allows her to rotate the face towards her to read the LCD. I can also just move the entire mount to face either me or her. This is installed along with the Jazzy Aux-In board... please excuse the white wire behind the unit.. That is a Y adapter so I can plug in my Dell Axim x50V or iPod without having to unplug the sirius unit. Its also hardwired for power to the cig lighter. mevanvt
I'm actually about to do this with my sportster. How did you run the wires? Did you just drill a hole in the back of the cubby and run them down?
MaStaMooN
yeah, I had a boost gauge in their previously.. so I just used that hole that I dremeled out for the wires. Jon - vBGarage Profile
tjm0852
I removed the cubby space entirely and mounted my Starmate in a panel I replaced the cubby with. The unit can easily be removed for home use. http://www.hostdub.com/albums/tjm0852/SiriusInstall.sized.jpg http://www.hostdub.com/albums/tjm0852/SiriusInstall3.sized.jpg http://www.hostdub.com/albums/tjm0852/SiriusInstall4.sized.jpg I have another mounting plate I need to wrap and install. This first one was a test. The new one has the unit centered better.
Kolbenson
I like this last one (starmate with cubby removed ) I would like to do this with my sportster.
zmarko
I like this last one (starmate with cubby removed ) I would like to do this with my sportster. I'd respectfully disagree. Looks rather non-professional to me. Plus with the non-dual-zone climate control, you can easily get an aftermarket unit with Sirius/XM built in and keep the cubby at the same time. TRAC3
spend enough time with a dremel, and you can have your sirius anywhere you want... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/HotRod03/IMG_4299.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/HotRod03/IMG_4297.jpg and keep your cig lighter http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/HotRod03/IMG_4294.jpg and have the cubby hole for other mods http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/HotRod03/IMG_4259.jpg

nKoan
Damn some of you guys will cram your unit into anywhere you can find! You need to see someone about this. I put my Sirius One on top of a defi control unit in my cubby. It *almost* closes right now, and with a little more dremeling, it should be good to go. Anyway, I'll try to get some pics when I get back home.
