16psibrick
i figure i would share a coupla pics of some of the higher line DLS component sets the stars: DLS Ultimate series: UR6s 6.5" two way component set Iridium 6.3 3 way component set Nobelium 6.2 two way component set http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/dls1.jpg first up is the cheapest among these (dls have many other ranges that go all the way down to 75 dollar coaxials ) key features: hony comb cone, 3" voice coil, 1" dome tweet. this is one of hte most transparent speakres around, the cone is very light whcih presents midrange smoothness and great transient response... http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/ur1.jpg http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/ur2.jpg List price: 625.00 next up is the Iridium 6.3 way comp set: key features: cated non press paper cone, 3" dome midrange sealed back, 1" tweeter 3" voice coil the Iridium is a different beast, its smooth and detailed, but the heavier cone and bigger motor structure means this thing craves power and can belt out hte midbass. i have done a set of these upfront and with 200 watts per side, they easily kept up with two 12w7s! http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/iri1.jpg http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/iri2.jpg List Price: 1000.00 last up is the most expsnive of the line, the Nobelium 6.2 two way comp set: key features: aluminum cone, 3" voice coil, 1" soft dome tweet, cast aluminum housing on tweet this speaker combines the advantages of the UR and iridium series and offers greater detail and even stronger midbass http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/nobe1.jpg http://simplicity.elitecaraudio.org/nobe2.jpg list price: 1100.00 any questions, let m eknow, oh the cover on the nobelium is not that color, its solid machines aluminum, i painted to match the kicks i am buiding
Boulderguy
C'mon now - LGT member prices... What's the mount depth on the drivers?
16psibrick
one of hte nicest things about the dls drivers is their hybrid neodymium magnet, and they have a very shallow mounting depth and the magnet is small so it easily clears the struthers behind them. for example, on g35s, almost all other sepaker requires a spacer, but dls ultimates fit straight up mounting depth is around 2.5" but again, the small magnet helps out a lot. of course i will give LG members very good discounts, i dont want to post specfics but i will give a hefty 25-30 percent discount on these and free shipping if you are interested, PM me b
Boulderguy
Nice. Just bought focal K2P's, otherwise I'd take you up on that. The Neo magnets & shallow depth are particularly nice.

highwaydrifter
since my last point of reference in car audio hifi was diamond audo hex how do these compare?
16psibrick
well, sound quality is personal preference, so i want ot make sure that what i am about to say is my own personal opinion. but...i personally would say the closest that the diamond hex comes to is the line below these three, the UP6, diamond hex to me is a good main stream speaker, very good midbass, average mids and highs, a musclular speaker if you will the UR6s, perhaps not as strong as the hex in the midbass department, is more transparent...the iridium is on a differen tlevel than the hex, it has the same if not bgetter midbass, but better overall other wise... nobelium is another level up... overall, its always hard to put sound quality into words b
