firewall pass through...really easy

i did some wiring on my car today, and did a quick search for firewall passthrough and didnt find too much...

so after looking around for about 5 mins, i found a really easy spot, it is a diamond shaped grommet behind the engine cover ont he driver side...just slice open the middle and a ton of wires can fit through..

here is where it goes...my 4 guage and 8 guage fit with no problem:

and while i am at it, might as well show the rest of hte wiring :)

i try to use a different color than black so i can differentiate between stock loom and my additions, so diagnosing later when there are a lot more stuff under the hood doesnt become an issue...

as for hte yellow, well the optima battery sorta started that :D

phoenix96 do you know anyone in Colorado who installs w/ as much attention to detail as you? I have always done my own install for Stereo and was very clean but: Job, Daughter, cat, Dog, Gerbils, Fish oh and sleep etc do not allow me to now if I want it completed before next year. Thanks Brotha

I can take no credit for this install: That goes to 16psibrick. I was just commenting on the yellowness. :icon_bigg

I'm assuming these are pics of a Legacy with an automatic transmission? My MT Legacy does not have this firewall grommet. I had to run cables through the wheel well grommet.
I think that's the verdict, I used it too & mine's AT. Someone mentioned it's where the clutch pieces are.

Here's a link to some more pictures of the firewall groment and where it is located above the acellerator. I used it to pass a vacuum line through to my boost gauge. Only available on automatics as this is where the clutch master cylinder is mounted on the maunuals.
