2005 VS 2006 LGT Limited.

There's a thread somewhere detailing the exact noticable differences from someone who had an 05 and got it replaced with an 06. It even had 05 vs 06 pics of several of the changes. A search or two should turn it up.

I think the only important difference is IIRC the doors were redesigned for the 06 MY to withstand side impacts better, or at least to withstand the IIHS's side impact tests better :icon_wink The doors don't look any different from the outside/inside, but apparently their structure underneath changed a bit. If I was buying an LGT sedan I'd personally pay a little extra for that, plus you'll get marginally better resale value with an 06.

That said the 05 is still overall a very safe car and if you get a killer deal on one I'd say go for it.

Steering wheel radio controls are only on the Legacy GT Spec B, or the 3.0R Outbacks.

Standard 2006 Legacy GT Limiteds have no steering wheel controls with manual transmissions and shifter buttons with automatic transmissions.

Several of us have added the steering wheel radio controls to our GTs, however:

Here's a thread that lists most of the differences:
