Deer Killer
I've used the rolls of roofing material from home depot on other sound proofing projects with good results..50'x3' roll is like $10 plus $6 for a small bucket of contact cement. One layer is _plenty_ I don't know what would happen if it baked inside a car.. actually I can rip off one of these panels from my computer and stick it my car tomorrow to see what happens :) Does roofing smell? hmm Although you know gluing some cellophane/etc onto the face of it would probably limit any smell you get from it.. That's what dynamat seems to do at least. The 'regular' stuff is asphalt based. So add $2 for a roll of cellophane wrap into that price. This http://www.legacysti.com/viewtopic.php?t=2624 should help with sound also.
