vet Posted February 6, 2006 Share Posted February 6, 2006 Pretty much until they wear out It's really just a gradual decline in the struts ability to damp wheel motions as effectively as when they're new. I'd estimate that after 3-5 years of "average" use you will be able to feel an appreciable degradation. Springs really don't go bad, you may get a minor amount of droop, probably 1/2 inch or less.
