R160 Conversion to R180

Hi

Im currently building a decent hp motor for my Legacy BE5 B4 02 and looking to swap from an r160 to r180 diff.

Ive heard there’s  hybrid way but also a factory r180 to r160 hubs set up which would be very ideal as I’m already running a 6 speed just not sure what options are out there.

i don’t know what’s in my car as it came with my car added in so not sure what model etc.

just seeing if there’s anyone that could help as I’m keen to make a use the r180 diff as the expected hp is between 450-500kw atw. I just know I’m gonna break my shafts sooner or later and I’ve had someone order from driveshaft shop which was big money but they came wrong and not keen to order something wrong as the guy I know was stuck with them.

if I can run the r160 but make upgrades to strengthen then I’m happy to do so just looking to see what options there are and see if anyone can help shine some light on this topic.
