OEM roof rack opinions.

For those who have the OEM rack, are you happy with it? Are the bars round or square? Would Thule ski carriers fit on it? I really do not want to buy a whole new thule rack, and have to dremel the thing just to work.

Its an OK rack. The bars are square. The ends have plastic end caps that are removable. Glue them on if you can There are 4 plastic are deflectors that come in the kit, they look like plastic rulers and help with the wind noise.

If you get it make sure you have the two keys that come with it.

 

The only MAJOR gripe is that spare parts for this bar set cannot be had on the aftermarket, its like looking for a needle in a haystack, you have to do it through the dealer. Its a pain in the butt if you lose the keys or plastic caps. Ask me how I know:icon_evil

 

They may be discontinued in the general public stores. Tell them this so you can get them to give you a newer bar of the outback or Forrester, if they can then take it and run
