slime
My step son has an automatic GT that has a" trans oil temp light" on. Dealer says it needs some clutch solenoid? (Sorry). Also says its a $500. job to replace. Is this something that the dealer needs to do, or can any tranny shop replace one? What does it do? Is it part of the awd system? What will happen if we don't fix it? Will it just die? He did not say it was driving funny. Thanks for the help. Greg
GTsleeper
Im sure any good tranny shop could do it. I just dont see how that can make the light go on unless it is causing a over heat problem. but would think u have symtomes with driving it over heated. Anycase take to a good, independent trans shop to get checked out.
GTsleeper
clutch solenoid... there maybe more then one.. what I know of is its a important piece of the AT trans puzzle..... its for line pressure, probably to activate the clutches for shifting & holding of the gear. For the trans sake, there is a tran specialist here.
