zenkick
During my re-install I want to setup my Roady XT. It requires 5v. Any suggestions as to where to tap into?
firedawgs
Do you need 5 volts or 5amps? If 5volts then you are going to need a converter. Updated my vBGarage:
ICE-SS
Actually, 5V can be had simply by using a voltage regulator. Radio Shack sells them cheap. I think they can only handle about 1A each, but if you need more, just set them up in parallel.
zenkick
I need 5v, 2000mA. I'll get a regulator or two.
bmorrisj
use the cig lighter adapter that came with it....take it apart and solder some wire on to the pos and neg inputs.... the then put that new wire to a 12v source...
zenkick
Great minds... I already cracked it apart tonight. Planning on wiring it all up later this week.
mudfoot
you didnt need to take it apart... radioshack sells a 12volt accessory adapter that you can hardwire into your car for about 5-10 dollars...cant remember the actual price...but its cheap..then you simply plug in your adapter that came with SAT reciever into it. Theres plenty of space to hide it under the radio\center console area... Thats how I wired mine up. Got Torque ?
