LGTLover
OK. so suby makes the "manual" button (technically, the Shift Lock) so that you can start out in second if you want. This is so that you dont spin the tires on snow and ice. It makes it really handy when you are driving your auto really aggressively. You can treat it like a manual. The difference between the Shift Lock tranny and a non-suby auto tranny is that if you are in, say, "2" and you floor it at 10 mph, the transmission will not downshift. The same goes with third gear. When you have the button for Shift Lock on and you are in "D" it acts as like it would without the feature, or with the feature not engauged. Basically, it keeps it in the gear that is selected. mranlet
Just don't downshift at speed while on the gas. Although not as bad as the dreaded Neutral drop, it's still bad for the tranny.

That is true. That little manual button really comes in handy with the snow up to your knees!!
