Snow Safety award from NHTSA

NHTSA gives the gold award to the following for safety/best in snow

Ford 500/mercury equivalent (the the ford 500 awd system good?)

Saab 9-3 ??? without AWD???

Subaru Legacy

 

Silver

Audis and god knows who else

Hmmm, I wonder if insurance companies know this about our cars. Funny that my insurance doesn't seem any lower than any other cars in the same class. Of course, I would bring this to my insurance company's attention if I hadn't recently receive my first ticket. :( Doh!

You forgot the Honda Civic.:confused: Honda Civic gets the same as an AWD Legacy.
One of many reasons why I'm wondering how they came up with this.

 

Oh and they gave the Audis a lower rating (not complaining there :lol: but I don't know how they measure).

This thread is pretty screwed up. NHTSA wasn't involved with that list, nor was performance in snow. Earlier this month IIHS announced a list of 10 car models that offered the best crash protection to occupants.
