Mloo
Hi all, This is my first post in here, hoped it's not in the wrong place. Currently having some issues with my ride, which is a 2.0L N.A EJ204 engine model with CVT. Car had 170K kilometers on the meter, and recently experiencing some grinding noise in upfront whenever I hit the brakes to a stop. It's especially louder when car is first started in the morning, and maybe lessen to 30% after a long 30Km drive. This happens only driving in forward, and does not happen when driving in reversed with brakes. At high speeds can't really hear the sound when light braking to slow down but it's still there. On one occasion when I had a nail in my rear, I changed to the smaller spare emergency tire and the grinding sound is slightly more enhanced. Before this issue, my car has also experiencing engine stalling at red lights occasionally. I think that's a Torque Converter issue, and did not address that yet as it's not happening everyday. I have had the brakes checked, replaced pads and skim the front rotors although they look pretty normal, sounds still there. Even dropped in new wheel bearings and still there. Thus it's definitely not a brake/ bearing issues. Someone told me it could be the viscous couplings ( does CVT has one?), however they usually creates different noises than mine usually. My mechanic checked engine side again and found one of the main pulley seems like a bad bearing as well. Has anybody had experienced the same symptoms as mine?
