rizzors25
Hey guys I’ve got a 2005 outback n/a auto that has a bit of a rough idle when in drive. When switching to neutral, it’s totally smooth and feels normal. No engine codes or power issues, it seems to cruise pretty good otherwise. I should also note it has a bit of vibration on acceleration only, haven’t checked out yet but a bit of searching seems to be carrier bearing or axles. If that’s the case it shouldn’t affect idle right? Everything looks good and it only has a little over 100k but should I just bite the bullet and replace spark plugs and wires? I hesitate because the neutral idle is so smooth
Pleides
On automatic cars it's a dead giveaway to me that someone put an aftermarket axle in their car when it shudders in drive but not in neutral. A bad axle will do the same thing.
