mbshop
I'm replacing my ac comp in my 2001 outback, std model. What I seem to have gotten confused about is the reciever drier. I'm told it's part of the condenser. What insanity is that ? Any enlightenment would be appreciated.
JMack
It seems many cars do that now. My 2016 Civic has a combination unit.
wtdash
Look @ this and you'll see the DRIER is the cylinder shaped part on the passenger (USA) strut tower. Condenser is in front of radiator: https://parts.subaru.com/a/Subaru_2001_Legacy-25L-AT-4WD-Outback-Wagon/_54104_6021176/AIR-CONDITIONER-SYSTEM-AIRCONDITIONER-PIPING/B12-730-01.html
mbshop
Yea, I should have sent a post that I had found the issue. The info I got or found was all wrong. The first reason was that I called the Subaru dealer and they told me the drier was in the condenser. Never trust these know nothings. After looking further and seeing folks doing stuff on their condensers on youtube I was ticked. Then after I posted my issue I called a big parts store here and asked. They said it was a canister . So I went through all that for junk info. I have it now. Thanks all for the help. George
