popeye
I have a 2006 Legacy Sedan with standard 2.5L with 182K miles. I noticed that on cylinders 2 and 4 I can move the fuel injectors in and out and a little fuel leaks out of the black seal near the fuel rail. Also I can twist the injectors in a circle with little effort. Cylinder 3 is tighter but I can still wiggle the injector in and out a little. Cylinder 1 is not moving much at all. I have had a P0304 misfire code I can't seem to get rid of followed by a couple of P0303 and P0302. Are the fuel injectors supposed to move this much and leak a little fuel? I don't see any leaks while engine is running.
socalsleeper
In a word no, your fuel injectors should not just wiggle about. The o-rings should be a snug fit, not gorilla tight but not just wiggle about either. New o-rings are not expensive, it is just a hassle to mess with the hold down brackets. Also make sure everything is tight you might have a loose bracket giving you some extra slack. Those engine codes are for misfires on cylinders 2 and 3. Start with new o-rings take if from there. popeye
Thanks that is what I am going to do. At 182K I am probably going to buy new injectors as this has been a pain to diagnose. Will post my results.
