  1. Thanks for the recommendation for a TCM reset. Have to look into this. For the other reply I do not know what reaching fuel cut means. I am having other issues with bank 1 running lean and U1221 and U1223 if that matters or can have an effect on shifting under heavy acceleration.
  2. No does not shift - just revs up to top of its range. Minute I take my foot of throttle once RPMs drop a little it shifts. The tranny fluid is nice and purple and I had it changed less than 20k ago. Regular driving and tektronix appear to work fine.
  3. Have an 06 legacy with standard 2.5L and auto trans. Started noticing that when I push on the gas hard the car will rev up to almost redline and won’t shift until I let off the gas. This happens in all the gears. However when driving normal it shifts fine all the way to 4th gear with no issues. Anyone have any ideas?
  4. Thanks that is what I am going to do. At 182K I am probably going to buy new injectors as this has been a pain to diagnose. Will post my results.
  5. I have a 2006 Legacy Sedan with standard 2.5L with 182K miles. I noticed that on cylinders 2 and 4 I can move the fuel injectors in and out and a little fuel leaks out of the black seal near the fuel rail. Also I can twist the injectors in a circle with little effort. Cylinder 3 is tighter but I can still wiggle the injector in and out a little. Cylinder 1 is not moving much at all. I have had a P0304 misfire code I can't seem to get rid of followed by a couple of P0303 and P0302. Are the fuel injectors supposed to move this much and leak a little fuel? I don't see any leaks while engine is running.
  6. Thanks. I took a bore scope and looked into the cylinders and did not see anything of concern. Had to say burn cylinder 4 where I had the bent over electrode might being showing an area where it hit - might have tightened plug too much - did gap the, to .44 based on info from web. When I was scoping I notice 3 of the fuel injectors would move in and out and I can turn them almost 360degress. Cylinder 4 and 2 leak a little fuel when you move them in and out. I am starting to think I need to replace Injectors as that might be causing my lean condition.
  7. I am struggling trying to figure out what the heck is going on with my 2006 Legacy with the standard 2.5L engine. For about a year I was getting P0420 (Cat System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1) and P0171 (System Too Lean Bank 1) codes - but no issues with how the car ran. Then about two months ago I got P0304 Cylinder 4 misfire code, pulled the the plugs and at 182K miles it appears the original owner never replaced (nub on spark plug was non-existent or barely there). Changed out plugs with new Champions and all codes went away and the car ran great for about a month. A few weeks ago the performance went down the tubes and it started bucking, misfiring and making exhaust vibration sounds at higher rpm. I replaced the plug wires, PCV and valve cover gaskets (tube seals had oil in them). Fired up car and still ran like crap and almost could not drive it around the block. Focusing on the misfire I pulled all plugs and noticed that the J part of the cylinder 4 plug was pushed up against the nub and it has carbon built up on it. The previous plugs did not have this issue so I re-gapped. Car idled well again until I took it up the road and then turned to crap. Got a misfire on cyclinder 2 and 4, pulled the plugs again but they looked fine gap wise (carbon built up on them). Also realized that when I can back the second catayltic converter was glowing bright red. I checked for spark at the plugs for cylinders 2 and 4 and that looks good. Also put a scope up to each injector and they are sounding good with continuous clicking. I can't swap coils as this is a coil pack (not individual). I am at a lose on what to check now and direction to take. Not sure if Cats are bad or not or if there is something else causing issues. Latest DCM reads don't pick up any CAT errors. As of now, getting code P0304, two ABS codes (C0110 and C0140) plus a U1221 and U1223. I think the ABS and the U1221 are probably related and a side issue perhaps. Appreciate the help ahead of time! I pulled the plugs and noticed
