While attempting to remove the struts from the ball sockets, It appears that the ball sockets cannot be separated from the strut. There are no removable retention clips on the struts. I have never seen a hood support strut that requires both ball sockets to be replaced with the strut. What is the thread pitch and bold diameter for the Subaru Legacy hood strut ball socket?
