MusicCity
Hey gang, Does anyone know what year they switched from the highbeam DRL to the LED C Light? Has anyone swapped them out as opposed to installing something like the Diode Dynamics C Lights? Seems like it might be a simpler affair. Thanks! ammcinnis
I believe the switch was for MY 2018. MY 2015-2017 headlight assemblies are not interchangeable with MY 2018-2019. Is the retrofit you propose possible? Maybe, but you'll be a test pilot, and it will be expensive whether it works or not. MusicCity
Gotcha. That’s unfortunate- I’m of the mind that OEM options tend to be the most reliable (unless you’re Subaru wheel bearings).
gathermewool
HB's are easy to replace. I'm not sure whether I trust my '15 C-light to last forever, especially were it to be on all the time. Not worth it to me. '15 FB25 Magnatec 0W-20 + FU filter (70,517 miles) RSB, Fr. Strut Bar, Tint, STI BBS, LED er'where
ronemus
I disconnected the DRL resistor (behind the bumper cover under the right headlight) on my '17 OB; turning on the running lights then gives me the C-lights for DRLs. I didn't bother to rewire to make them work regardless of the headlight switch position, but that could be done fairly easily - just run a switched 12V source to the relay(s).
