Subaru Bob
Folks: I have a 2011 Legacy premium 3.6L. Can someone explain where the fuel pressure regulator is? There is a device on the fuel line that I understand is the damper. Is that on the fuel return line? I want to open up the fuel delivery line under the hood and attach my injector cleaning machine. I have done this many times on my older outbacks. It is not hard. However, I need to get the orientation of the fuel lines correct. Thanks. Thanks. These cars have a pressure sensor on the fuel line, which i believe allows the ecm to use pulse width modulation to cycle the pump as needed to keep the pressure steady. I am not finding an fpr for the 5th gen, I do know the ecm also has fuel pump duty cycle parameters it all points to no regulator on the fuel system. Plastixx
I take injectors out to clean them so I can back-flush them first. When I did the injectors on my Legacy there was a decent amount of visible particles in the container I used to catch the solvent.
DrD123
I went through the service manual and couldn't find a fuel pressure regulator for the H6, either - maybe it's integrated into the pump? (in the fuel system trouble section, it does say it could be a damaged diaphragm in the pressure regulator and that it should be replaced if that's the case, but the only engine (at least in the 2012 service manual) that has an actual fuel pressure regulator is the one in the Legacy GT (it's on the intake manifold diagram - see pic) but it's not there for the other two engines...
