New UEL headers for Pzev 2.5i

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm new to the forum, recently got a 2008 2.5i legacy PZEV. Infernofab has posted new single port headers. I was wondering if these would be able to fit the 08-09 Pzev? I know there's really no easy way and I'm hoping this is the way to do it. I just want that sweet rumble.

Just unbolt your muffler and start the engine, see if that's enough. You can have made or buy some muffler deletes.

Some just put some washers between the Y pipe and muffler flanges to get more noise.

The boxer's sound pretty good that way.

305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).  CHECK your oil, these cars use it.

Yes I have a muffler delete, it sounds great. Don't want a muffler leak by doing the washer mod, just unequal length headers. I don't understand the hate for naturally aspirated engines here. I just want subaru rumble.

No, that will not fit a 08-09 2.5i NA engine.

Yeah, oxygen sensor locations, missing catalytic converters, would just be a headache. What's that thing I've read about in the past here, hogzaust?

Like I said, I have a proper muffler delete. I know these won't be a direct fit, but like the non-Pzev legacies (dual port header), would I be able to have a shop make it fit (adding a cat, adjusting the route of piping), just as if it were a non-pzev 05-06, which you CAN add UEL because of the dual port heads which everyone makes. I've done a lot of searching around, really want some legitimate insight into making it work and not "Oh just leave it alone it's fine how it is"...

What we are trying to do is save you money and headaches.

Sorry for that...

If you want more performance, save your money and buy a GT, don't waste it on a 2.5i.

So, it basically sounds like you want a shop to customize it for you and turn it into this? Just contact these guys and tell them what you want, it seems like they're more than capable.

You’re mistaking “hate” for lack of support. You’re on a website called legacygt.com looking for non gt advice and interpreting non gt advice as hate against na. We don’t hate na, we’re a site for gt and sadly there just isn’t much of an aftermarket support for na.
