ObsidiousGT
Hi Everyone, I have a 2006 Legacy GT and am looking for a spring/strut combination that is a good balance between ride and handling. I bought a set of H&R springs and am strongly considering the Bilstein B8's. My only concern is that the ride is going to be pretty harsh. Can anyone with experience on this please chime in? Are there better options? Also, do I need JDM top hats because I've heard conflicting answers to this. Thanks
pdXammo
That's a horrible match. H&R go with stock type struts. B8's are for legit stiff springs 1 or more inches in drop. Koni's might work with H&R. It's all about matching the strut to the spring. Koni or stock for you.
ObsidiousGT
The reason I was thinking B8's is because the H&R drop is 1.4 front and 1.3 rear. I have KYB Excel G's but was worried they wouldn't provide enough damping for the springs. I am trying to find a balance between ride and handling but there isn't a lot available for Legacy's. What would you recommend?
Pleides
The Koni and H&R combo on my wagon is perfect. No complaints. I wish it could go lower, but that's not what these are for.
