Brisvegas
Any thoughts on whether this tool would be suitable for our generation vehicles?
michaelj11103
I'm sure it would be a suitable tool for our gen legacy's, but looking at the price of $148 US Dollars, I don't think it would be worth it to purchase. I bought this thin wall swivel spark plug socket and was able to remove my spark plugs fairly easy in my 15 Legacy Limited. I had another set of swivel spark plug socket and they were actually too thick to use. Hope this helps
DrD123
If you are looking for a long, flex head ratchet, I have the pittsburgh (Harbor Freight) 14", 3/8" drive one - it works great (it's not a Matco, but build quality is quite good just the same) - maybe doesn't help a ton since I just noticed you are in Australia, but $27 is a whole lot cheaper than the Matco one. https://www.harborfreight.com/hand-tools/sockets-ratchets/38-in-drive-professional-flex-head-long-handle-ratchet-62333.html For Subaru's, I have found getting a ratchet in there isn't an issue, but having the right spark plug socket and extensions as needed can be a big help so that you don't interfere with the frame
