If you haven't yet...(debadge and L7 decal pics)

I believe they are saying: 'L' for Legacy, '7' for the cluster of stars (Pleiades) in the Taurus constellation that Subaru is named for (a.k.a. Seven Sisters).

I have also heard that the '7' is really a 'T'......for turbo.

Personally I don't care for it, I wouldn't want to have to explain it to people. Too obscure for me, and it looks alittle too much like the Scion badge. I'd rather get the standard stars in another color. I do like the red on black look, it has me thinking.

I have a new Legacy GT wagon (2005). I'd like to debadge the rear but I don't want to get into any bodywork or painting. I'm talking about removing the Subaru, the 2.5 and the GT badges. Are these things glued on or are there fasteners and therefore holes in the rear gate? My dealer doesn't know (no surprise) so we looked at a drawing in the parts department and it seems to show fastners as part of the badge assembly. These fastners look like they would require holes.

No, they're just glue'd on. Just take a heat gun, or a blow dryer and heat up the emblems, get something thin enough to get behing the emblem (like dental floss or a piece of string) and peel them off.. more than likely you'll have glue residue still on your car... so just rub it out. be careful with the blowdryer though, it may soften your paint and give a chip or two...

wouldnt the heat from the engine/IC make it peel off over time?

i had engine graphics from ryan on my old vibe GT. no problem with peeling... the paint however, was a different story. :(

i had put some custom graphics on the front and rear emblems with the dark reflective blue and chrome lettering. the problem now is people think it's a ford! :( so i want to redo the emblems and thinking of going with the L7 badges, but something none FORD colors. lol

damn sexy.........i went with some blue metallic and the white carbon. i mulled over the grafx site for hours trying to pick the right colors, and i could only decide the one or my steering wheel. gonna see how that looks before i settle down on the front and rear badges. so many choices..................:spin:

Nah, The first pic Has no overlays at all.

This picture has overlays that I bought from Squishyface.

I believe they're Lamin-X Protective Films from AJW Performance.

The second pic is after I pulled off the overlays and spray tinted them with VHT Nite-shades.

Another pic of the overlays w/LED's cut out.

And another angle of the debadged and L7 badge to stay on topic.

You can do overlays if you want.

I am about to order black with garnet red stars for my front and rear.

Please let me know how the red matches and which one you order....I want to do this for my OBXT in GRP, but am a tad nervous as to which red to get, and how close it will match....
