Resonator delete 6th gen?

Recommended Posts

I have an axle back nameless muffler delete and would I get more rumble/pops/loudness out of my exhaust system if I delete the resonator. I’ve heard that a check engine light can come on if I do this, how can I avoid that would adding a glass pack do any better than the stock resonator or should I full send and straight pipe?

Edit: my daughter who is 8 months old sometimes rides with me very rarely and we have two cars so if straight pipe is to loud it’s not an issue but would it be to much for her?

If you delete resonator it will not throw CEL,unless it’s the catalytic your referring to then yes definitely it will throw CEL.

If you remove resonator it will be very loud,I had a Wrx mid pipe and Wrx axle and no resonator I didn’t last 2 hours with it was so annoying and cannot stand the drone when decelerating..so I left the Wrx axle back but reinstalled stock mid pipe and sound much better not annoying at all.

The only way is going straight pipe or maybe keep yourself stock pipe and have a cutoff valve welded to it so when you’re daughter is with you,you can switch from loud to quiet.

Anyways here’s a sound clip of my stock mid pipe w/resonator and Wrx axle back exhaust.

Sounds good enough for me

I need more out of it

And that’s just me

It is my daily driver but the axle back just isn’t enough and from some of the videos I’ve seen people blow a bunch of money on Perrin and other company’s and my $220 axle back sounds so much better

I just want a heavily modified legacy, it’s rare

Mate I have a cutout on mine, just after the resonator, it pops and goes berzerk. Love it. I press a button and bam its quiet again (changed the mufflers).

How did you do this, or anyone else than can answer how this can be done?

i have nameless muffler delete and i have a resonator delete. still no pops and bangs though, just quiet/subtle tiny pops and gurgles.
