LGTLover
Ok, So i just bought this 97 LGT AT with 102k miles on her. First off I love the car and subaru is a wonderful car company. I dont know, but i have a bad feeling about the tranny. It slips sometimes in the middle of the gear and the shifts are kinda wierd, like it cant make up its mind very fast. If it does go down, which seems kinda normal, could I take either an outback tranny and pedal box or another GT tranny and pedal box and swap it without it being much trouble? I would do it myself.... is there a lot of electronics envolved? i have never done a swap on a subie. I did do a swap on my 92 Acura Vigor (engine and tranny), but it was from stock to stock. I am hoping to pick up a 5sp from a junkyard sometime soon. Thanks for any info! Nick:)
SLegacy99
Well you got a good year to do this in and many people have done it before. However I took the easy way out and bought a newer Legacy with a 5 speed. It was cheaper.
