Cold Weather Problem..?

Recommended Posts

I'm really not sure where this goes under, but i guess this seems alright here.

I recently left my car outside in the freezeing weather and water and stuff froze it over, thus i let it time to defrost and heat up a bit. When i got to the first stop, i left it in gear and waited, but when i was going, the car just stalled. And i tried 3 times, but each time i revved higher because i seriously was thinking i wasn't giving it enough gas. I knew i was in gear (or somewhat) because i would stall. Eventually i just took it out of gear and put it back in, and it worked. But now my car smells like really burnt clutch and the smell isn't really going away. (Prob resulted of me not thinking of takeing it out of gear and back in due to the all-night party).

Question is, did the gear just slip out a bit without me noticeing...? And i prob did horrible damage to the clutch (though its a few month old) and the smell is still sorta there....
