dark_templer_102
I'm really not sure where this goes under, but i guess this seems alright here. I recently left my car outside in the freezeing weather and water and stuff froze it over, thus i let it time to defrost and heat up a bit. When i got to the first stop, i left it in gear and waited, but when i was going, the car just stalled. And i tried 3 times, but each time i revved higher because i seriously was thinking i wasn't giving it enough gas. I knew i was in gear (or somewhat) because i would stall. Eventually i just took it out of gear and put it back in, and it worked. But now my car smells like really burnt clutch and the smell isn't really going away. (Prob resulted of me not thinking of takeing it out of gear and back in due to the all-night party). Question is, did the gear just slip out a bit without me noticeing...? And i prob did horrible damage to the clutch (though its a few month old) and the smell is still sorta there....
DAP
The smell means that you were in gear. Stalling implies that you were not in first espescially since taking it out of gear and putting it back in fixed the problem.
LGTLover
:lol::lol: I love it... your clutch is fine. Just got hot. It might have gotten a little warped though, due to the really cold weather. Dont forget to take off the emergency brake

dark_templer_102
I don't put the emergency brake on while waiting for a light (usually). Are you sure you can stall in third gear from zero..? even giving it enough gas to go? (never tried it, though seems logical)
mwiener2
it can be done. It's not easy or easy on the car, but it can be done. My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
