Enesunkie
I have a 2016 Legacy. The brake light comes on shortly after starting the car along with the collision avoidance off light and lane departure off light. When I engage the parking brake, the park light flashes on and off. Just wondering what I should look at next.
ammcinnis
Have the rear brake pads been replaced recently? A flashing "Brake" warning light usually indicates a poor or broken electrical connection between one of the parking brake actuators and its wiring harness. That would be the place to start. Enesunkie
Haven't had any work done on the brakes, but will check the connections. Thank you.
ehsnils
Check the brake fluid level too, that will come on when the pads are worn and the level drops.
ammcinnis
Check the brake fluid level too ... Good point. Always check the easy things first. vtdog
Brake light switch. Had similar issues w/son's Impreza. Cheap ($ 15 or less) part and easy to change out. There was a recall for the part as well on some models & years, so check to see if your car is covered.
