I need to know if the fluid in a 2003 Legacy 4EAT is the same as the fluid in a 2010 Outback 3.6R 5EAT. I would prefer to use Valvoline full synthetic in both if the fluids are the same. I use it in the 4EAT and it has been awesome over the last 80+K miles on that car. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
AWDFTW Posted December 19, 2019 Share Posted December 19, 2019 4EAT called for Dex-III fluid. 5EAT called for ATF-HP fluid. Subaru states the you can use HP where Dex was origionally called for but not the reverse. Look for something that meets the ATF-HP spec. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
