Tial MVS

Does anyone have a tial MVS ewg that they have bench tested? I got mine second hand and figured I would make sure it was all good before putting it in. So I hooked an air line to the fitting on it. If it is less than my spring pressure it just kind of leaks out the dump tube. To fully open it I have to give it a shot of air that is more than my spring pressure. I’m just wondering if this is normal? I dont want to put this in and start my tune and the. Realize it is messed up and have to to stop. Obv it is leaking out air from the vacuum line connection which doesn’t necessarily mean that exhaust will be dumping all the time. I just don’t know and wanna be 100% before going forward.

Yeah they leak past the guide and valve stem. There needs to be clearance there so the valve will open and close. The clearance will tighten up when things get hot and it won't leak as much.

Ok great. At least it isn’t just me. Does this cause boost issues?

I haven't had any. I ran a Tial MVR for a 4-5 years or so up over 30 psi and it always worked great.

 

Now I'm using two Tial MVSs and I haven't had any problems with them, but I'm not running much boost.
