SesnaBlue
While replacing my exhaust I discovered that when the car is up in the air on jack stands if I turn it on in park and don’t use the parking brake the rear wheels are rotating. If I rev the motor they rotate faster. Parking brake stops all this. When it’s on the ground you can’t notice this behavior. My buddy said I may have a bad viscous coupler. Does that sounds right? ehsnils
Is it an AT or MT? Can you hold the wheels by hand to stop the rotation? Sometimes there's a little friction between incoming and outgoing causing the rotation to occur. It you can hold the wheels with your hand I wouldn't worry. SesnaBlue
AT. I’ll double check but ya I think I can hold them by hand Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ehsnils
If you engage the parking brake when the wheels rotates - do the engine rpm change? If it doesn't then it shouldn't be a problem. The AT gearbox on the GT has a planetary center differential with an electrically controlled clutch pack for proportional diff lock action. In park there's no point in getting the diff lock to engage.
SesnaBlue
Ya I don’t see any change in RPM. I’ll assume it’s normal for now. Thank you for the replies! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SesnaBlue
Ok just verified I can easily stop it with my hands and the rpm does not drop at all. Thanks again! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
