Silversquirrel
New here. Helping a family member with her 2005 legacy outback, 2.5 non turbo, automatic. 24k (!) Miles. Before i dig into this car, do i pull out the shift lever from the interior to access the cable end, or can i get to both ends under the car? Movement is stiff, and only R will engage. Lever will move to D, but trans is neutral, just revs. Im assuming cable issue. Salty Massachusetts winters. Silversquirrel
Ok. Thinking about this, need the shifter in place to adjust the cable. From under the car it is, both ends. Can anyone advise me on heat shield or exhaust that may be in the way, to get the cable?
