YeuEmMaiMai
Well I got some furniture from my aunt and I had to rent a trailer to bring it back to my house some 750 miles away. My setup 1 2014 Legacy 2.5i 2. Curt hitch rated at 4000lbs https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/Subaru/Legacy/2014/C13158.html?vehicleid=201418687 3. Curt ball and receiver https://www.etrailer.com/Ball-Mounts/Curt/C45230.html https://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Ball/Curt/C40002.html wiring kit https://www.etrailer.com/Custom-Fit-Vehicle-Wiring/Subaru/Legacy/2014/56091.html?vehicleid=20141175921 installation was easy enough took about an hour and I did prime everything as I drilled and then primed after installation. lets just get this out of the way 2.5L will struggle to tow a 4*8 U-Haul on any sort of hilly terrain... often reaching up to 4K on the tach. empty it was 850lbs and loaded prolly 1150 (gliding chair and foot rest, love seat, 2 night stands and a small round table, and a crosley radio... No way would I tow that in a mountain... also if you think acceleration is bad without any extra weight.. you will be taken back to the memories of 17 seconds to get to 60mph days.. Now for the good things 1. The car returned 25mpg at 60mph. normally I would see around 34 if I drive that speed 2. The car was extremely stable... was not influenced by the trailer...at all So in a nutshell, I would not do long distance towing through hilly our mountainous terrain at the vehicle's tax rating...
