Soobyhobby
I have a EJ20X/EJ20Y engine (which came from 2003+ JDM Legacy basically), I was wondering if anyone knows if I can use the shortblock with USDM D25 heads (2007 LGT)? So I was hoping I could use the EJ20X shortblock in place of a EJ255 shortblock. Any info would be appreciated. The engine is a EJ20 with Dual AVCS heads and twin scroll turbo. It has bent valve from timing getting knocked out.
utc_pyro
No, the cylinder bore is diffrent. You can go the other was (EJ20X heads with EJ255/257 block) with machine work, but not the other way around.
Hardware BoB
Just replace the valve(s) - it's not that hard. Just time consuming - as long as it hasn't damaged the head. Lap the valves in and you're on your way. (plus the EJ20X/Y heads are way better - although the cams are fairly small)
